Life Happens Part 2

So 3 weeks prior to this an incredibly, gracious family offered us a 99' VW Eurovan camper.  We were considering saying no as we had a van and a pop-up already...  Like I said God is never surprised.  When the van broke down we called this sweet family back and said, 'Does the offer still stand?'  Long story short, we have a new vehicle.  God didn't just give us a car, he gave us a home on wheels, which makes me wonder what's around the corner for us...
Next up turning this beauty into a 6 seater before our out west road trip.
I hope to take a sweet picture of Andy that looks similar to this(=.

Life Happens Part 1

It's not always pretty or crafty.  Sometimes it's sleeping in gas stations, saying goodbye to a car, and saying hello to a new blessing.   We were headed north when the check engine light came on and we started losing power fast.  We pulled over, attempted to start it again several times and the dreaded nothing happened.  All that to say we ended up sleeping at a gas station(in our van because our pop-up broke as well), and saying goodbye to an old friend.
R.I.P.
The next morning one of our co-workers called asking us if we would want to borrow their motor home that had broken down a half hour away...  It had been fixed and we just needed to get to it! My Good Friend's extended family lives in that town and a cousin came and rescued us.  We were back on the road the next day and headed to this event.

Andy ended up missing the finals by one point.  I was so thankful that he was able to be a part of his favorite hobby in spite of everything that happened.

Notice the puffy eyes; between the stress and gas station sleep with four kids  there was a little wear and tear.

Love how unaffected babies are!

Wait til you see the vehicle we have now and hear the story behind it.  God is never surprised by events.

Get Together

The girls from Scrappy Love got to get together this past weekend with husbands and kids too. It was a quick visit, but so fun...as always.

We worked on the tree house makeover. More pictures to come of the outside when it is finished. Scrappy Love curtains at it's finest folks! (these may end up in my kitchen)

Got to go road biking and catch up on life. I had to wear my glasses bc I had pink eye.

Cousins having breakfast together. I love when they get to hang out!

The visit also included a guys Mt. biking trip, and pizza out with friends. Can't wait to do it again.

California Part 2

So this was an extra special wedding for many reasons.  1.  The couple are amazing people who have led dynamic, Christian lives.  It was Very easy to celebrate this union.  2.  A lot of our friends from New York were there and we got to talk, laugh, and catch up.  It was just super special, and no time has been lost.  3.  It was on a property in California that the bride's family had homesteaded 150 years prior, as in came on a covered wagon.    So it just felt a bit magical.  I'll let the pictures do the talking.
So of course they got engaged kayaking...

I loved the burlap, ok and the 70 degree weather.

Something you need to know, the Lewis boys are some of the funniest guys there are and play off of each other.  They dressed up in traditional ranch gear and had real guns.  This was not L.A. people.

This is pathetic, but see that lady right between Andy and I .  She is one of my greatest examples of a Godly mother.  She is just wonderful and I should have gotten a pic with her, but...

And there they are, armed and dangerous waiting for the bride.

Do you see them?!?  Pure, true,  God-ordained love.  I bawled like a baby many times that day, because when love and marriage are done right it is truly the most beautiful thing to behold.

California Part 1

We were able to get away for one of our good friend's wedding in California in early April.  So I thought this week could be a chronicle of the trip of sorts.  I got out there late April 3rd so the fun really started the next day.  Spring is significant to Andy and I.  We started dating in April and were married in May.  Being together is so fun and makes me remember all the reasons we fell in love.  We're cut from the same cloth so to speak.  Add great friends, some karaoke, hikes and a wedding and it was perfect!
We did a tour of the Sierra Nevada Brewery.  They are amazing to their employees and super green!  Cool to see a grassroots company doing so well.

And what wedding would be complete without sweet, sweet karaoke?  On the way a cat got caught in Jeff's tires, and then spit out onto our car and hit again.  We are pretty sure his 9 lives were used up in that one incident.  Then we were able to go on a fun 9 mile hike to a 650 ft waterfall.  I believe we solved every world problem on that hike(=.  At least in our little world.

The next pictures will be more wedding happenings and you won't want to miss those.  It was Beautiful and magical and we are so thankful we got to be a part of it.
