Something so simple and so revolutionary to our home was the girls doing their own laundry start to finish... This probably has already occurred to you, but they are very capable (with a little assistance) from about 51/2 on. I'll let you know what we find the boy avg. age to be. Lucky for me River is always in the same soccer jersey/swim trunks ensemble... not a lot of laundry coming from him. Those girls though, the laundry they create is incredible. They are way more mindful now that it is their responsibility. Who minds the washing part? It's the folding/putting away that stinks!
